Co-Founder Interview with Spectrum News

Co-Founder of Dutchess Pride and immediate past board president Adam Rubinstein was interviewed by Spectrum News 1 regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision not to hear an appeal on an extremely damaging ‘bathroom bill’ passed in an Indiana public school district. Adam is quoted in the interview as saying:

“Not being able to use the bathroom of your gender identity, to not being able to play sports of your gender identity, to not even being able to get adequate treatment from medical professionals is just insane…The suicide attempt rate for transgender teenagers who do not have support at home or in the community is up to 40%," he said. "That is a staggering, staggering number. So these bills are not just about being anti-LGBTQ, they actually put lives at risk.”
