Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil
Wednesday, November 20
SUNY New Paltz
On National Trans Day of Remembrance, we recall our transgender siblings who have lost their lives to transphobia and violence this past year. We will have a few different speakers at each event. We will then say the names of our transgender siblings who were taken too soon, and have a moment of silence to honor them.
Hosted in solidarity with The Newburgh LGBTQ Center and Marist Fox Pride.
Please text 845-380-6549 for more specific location details.
Friday, November 29, 6-8pm
We know that Thanksgiving isn't always the easiest time for LGBTQ+ people to be with their families. Some have to hide who they are and some no longer have a home to go to.
So we're hosting our second annual Friendsgiving dinner for all LGBTQ+ community members to make your own family space with us. Bring your family or your "family", or come on your own and join us for food, fun and new friendships.
We'll supply the turkey and there is no fee to attend, but we are asking everyone to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Please RSVP by text to 845-380-6459, email firstname.lastname@example.org or respond to Facebook event by clicking here, with what you are bringing and how many are coming by November 26, so we can have enough turkey for everyone!
